It was hard to disagree with his assessment.
It felt like a year of demos and online leaks.
When the album finally came out. After so many plays. So much hype. We were hearing what we wanted to hear. Or hearing things.

that was the first thing i thought when i heard this record a few years ago. right before that i read a ridiculous issue of NME boldly (and obviously inaccurately) heralding it as the 2nd greatest british record of all time. i don't know why any magazine would get so bowled over by a bands hype they'd make such an absurd comment, but i wonder if they feel differently now?
NME naming the second greatest British record of all time is a yearly occurrence.
I'm curious. What is the first?
I'm sorry, Arctic Monkey's were at #5. The top album was the Stone Roses s/t record. Not a bad choice.

That's a solid number one. I would probably have to to with Technique.
Oh NME. You never cease to amaze me.
That's a good pick too. It's not my favorite New Order record, but I definitely think it's one of the best and kind of underrated as far as their records go.
