UK 2000

Mike Skinner and Pete Doherty. Two of my favorites of early 2000s. Together. In 2006.

The Streets - Prangin' Out. AKA Music. Bargain bin.

Post-Career

Of the Galaxie 500 chain of bands, Damon & Naomi would be at the bottom.

But it's a good bottom. Much higher than a lot of other bands.

They are the Other Two and You of Galaxie 500.

1. Galaxie 500

2. Luna

3. Damon & Naomi

For Sale

Every track was sold for advertising.

Today that seems like the only way to get new music out there.

Moby - Play. Amazon.com. Used.

Harder to Find

It's only been within the past year or so I started dabbling in James singles. You don't see them too often. Not like Suede. The Charlatans. Blur. The Bluetones.

James - Ring the Bells. Amazon.com. Used.

Out of Stock

I don't know if this is out of print. But it is definitely out of stock on RevHQ. So I feel okay about posting it.

Tell me if I'm wrong.

Shelter - Perfection of Desire. Princeton Record Exchange. Bargain punk.

Complete Needs

I really want the deluxe editions of the first two albums.

But I can't bring myself to spend that money.

Used please.

Physically Devoted to You

There aren't a lot of things hotter than the "bad girl" version of Olivia Newton-John in Grease.

That's reason enough to own this.

Three Plus

Jale. Sloan. Eric's Trip. And someone else.

These bands started my fascination with The Maritimes.

A fascination I've yet to realize with a visit. Close. But so far away.

Hitting Girls

As I've gotten older, I've gotten more appreciative of pop punk.

Generally it seems to be something that people outgrow. But all I want to do is dive deeper into the Lookout! catalog.

Screeching Weasel - My Brain Hurts. AKA Music. Bargain bin.

Win/Win

Ace of Base covering Bananarama. You can't go wrong.

Stay tuned for the remix disc.

Ace of Base - Cruel Summer. Amazon.com. Used.

Cliché

It's not Unrest. But it's not bad at all.

Beggars can't be choosers.

Air Miami - Me. Me. Me. AKA Music. Used.

I Understand Why, But I Don't Like It

I had been buying up iTunes US releases of the now defunct duo.

One of the many times I was reminded how much I hate being limited to the iTunes US store.

The Look

The hits alone are worth it.

I can do without the new release.

Roxette - Look Sharp! Princeton Record Exchange. Bargain bin.

Not Sure

I fluctuate between liking His Name Is Alive and really liking His Name Is Alive.

They are not a typical 4AD band. But they still manage to fit right in.

I'm sure I'll continue to think about them. They are interesting like that.

His Name Is Alive - Livonia. Amazon.com. Used.

Yee-Haw

When I first heard of Revolting Cocks, sometime in the early nineties, I was under the impression it was industrial artists making country music.

I have no idea why I thought that. The only thing I can come up with was the album art for Linger Ficken' Good.

A strange conclusion to arrive at. But I did. And I was wrong.
