J.J.

Does anyone remember JJ72 besides Cathy? I feel like they've been cast onto the pile of UK-Also-Rans. (Yes I know they are Irish and that statement should offend the Irish-Catholic in me.)

They were so good. I really wish they stuck around. I'm glad I got to see them once.

Newer Sounds

Keel Her reminds me of Best Coast. It is certainly in the Best Coast wheelhouse.

What are the kids calling it? Surf? Lo-Fi Surf? I don't know, but I enjoy it.

Housekeeping...

I think I’ve had this blog since 2008. I’ve considered moving my blog to my unused for years Tumblr, He Tumbles for Nickels. I think I’ll post the same content to both for the time being.

Newer Sounds

I was trying to figure out what Cocoanut Groove reminded me of. Belle and Sebastian meets The Birds meets Juan Esquivel? I don't know. The answer is in there somewhere.

Newer Sounds

A neat little release of covers from this band from Spain. Spain, yes.

I mean. There's a cover of "Love Vigilantes" which might be one of my favorite New Order songs. Shit, probably one of my favorite songs in general.

I'm a sucker. But this is decent.

Second

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is probably my second favorite pop singer. After Kylie. Of course.

Newer Sounds

I always remember there being a Pale demo in the Very Distro catalog that I wanted, but never got around to buying.

This is not that Pale.

Pale - Too Much. iTunes.
