Offers

At the Spectrum show Nick mentioned Front 242. He was interested in learning more about them.

I couldn't offer much. But I offered my help.

Front 242 - Front By Front. Barnes & Noble. New.

Front 242 - 05:22:09:12 Off.

Please let me know if a link is down. If possible, I will re-upload. Leave a comment in the post or email me at hedancesfornickels@gmail.com.

If you would like something removed, let me know and I will take it down immediately.

Lessons

Ignoring the album itself, let's move to the tray of the jewel case.

Creation artists. Now on Cherry Red Records.

A sampling of Creation artists now with re-releases on Cherry Red Records. Obviously.

So for about the third or fourth time in my life I think to myself "I should pick up a BMX Bandits release."

And three or four times in the past, I have.

And three or four times in the past, I have been left disappointed.

There's a pretty good chance I'll do it again.

Druids

There was a time when I would make jokes about Hawkwind. Druids, Stonehenge, elves. Humor at Hawkwind's expense.

My knowledge was limited to and influenced by things I read in Select.

I eventually decided to give them a listen.

Take me away to Stonehenge.

Youth of Today. Used.

Judgment

Thanks to Buske or Uriah for posting the Sleepwalkers demo on Twitter.

I don't remember who provided the link, but I've learned to trust the judgment of both.

Boots

I wonder if any of the bands on this sampler were aware of their appearance on it. Prior to release.

Divorce

We sold all of our doubles.

Then I lost the remaining copy in the divorce.

Lesson learned.

Go Get It

I've mentioned Na Sadaa on here before.

And I'm mentioning that you should check them out again.

I'd say for fans of Isis. But my Isis knowledge is fairly limited. So I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

Judge for yourself.

Na Sadaa - The Accu-Tune Sessions. Free Digital Download. Nasadaa.com.

You Might Recall

A year or so ago I thought I was buying a Pop Will Eat Itself record.

I bought an 808 State album instead. I confused the bands.

Not a big loss. 808 State is incredible in their own right.

Eventually I got my act together.

Go Get It

There has been a reunion show. Or two.

One, two or more. It doesn't matter. I haven't attended.

Live shows or not, I'm happy for the new material.

1.6 Band - The Checkered Pasts of All Kings Present. Free Digital Download. Metastasis Records.

Pop Pop Pop

I suppose it was the (belated) discovery of Girls Aloud that kicked off my new found obsession with all things Xenomania.

The Infamous

An album often referred to as one of the worst (or even the worst) of the genre. It is generally considered the worst Warzone release.

I hadn't listened to it in years. This copy was acquired in Sam's compact disc purge.

After giving it a re-listen, I came to the conclusion that I don't hate it. In fact, I like it. Yes, it's corny in parts. Yes, it's not D.F.T.S.D.F.T.S. But it's still Warzone.

I've listened to it a number of times since then. I stand by my reassessment.

Cathy wasn't sure how how to pronounce the name of her friend's new baby.

I asked her to spell it.

Thanks to you Catatonia, I knew.

Romo

"Romantic Modernist"

I came across this short-lived nineties genre a few weeks ago. My knowledge is limited. But I like what I've heard. And all I've heard is Sexus.

Welcome Back

I was still a student at Syracuse University when I loaned this to Eric.

It may have taken twelve years, but I finally got a replacement.

I wanted it for The Smiths cover more than anything.

Better Late Than Never

I remember a time when people didn't really care about Warzone.

Maybe it wasn't "people." Maybe it was just me.

Although I don't remember it that way.

Whatever the case may be, I'm glad I listen to them now.

Something about the cover art makes me think "Matchbox 20."

Apparel

Late senior year of high school/early freshman year of college I had a great Strife hood.

They weren't my favorite band of the era, but I liked them enough. I loved that hood. I sold that hood.

I keep hoping it will pop up on Tee Till Death.

Goodbyes

It sounds like 108 is going to continue without Rob Fish.

I don't know about that. It won't be the same band as far as I'm concerned.

With that being said, take a listen to his new project: Eshas.

Lights - The Listening. Target. New.

Resumé

Release. Ressurection. 108. The Judas Factor. 108. (Eshas.)

People tend to treat The Judas Factor as the bastard son of the Rob Fish resumé. The band is rarely discussed.

I agree. It's not his best material, but I think the Wreck-Age EP is pretty great.

Doubles

I almost posted the Love Spreads single twice. Within a few days.

I meant to post the One Love single.

My readers deserve nothing less.

Obsessed

I watched the "Bulletproof" video about a dozen times yesterday.

OnDemand. Over and over.

Elly Jackson has become a healthy obsession.

La Roux - Quicksand EP. Amazon.com. New.

Deutschland

I have said that I don't feel the need to collect the multiple international releases of a single.

There are exceptions to that rule.

I only own the German version of Sally Cinnamon. I would like to own the UK version as well. I suppose it's an issue of album art.
