No SU

For some reason I always thought Joshua had something to do with Syracuse University.

I don't think they did.

They might have had something to do with Immigrant Sun. Which would put them in Ithaca. Not Syracuse.

Joshua. Long In the Tooth. Bargain bin.

Orders

The standing order is to purchase the more obscure Sub Pop releases of the early to mid-nineties.

Crackerbash meets that criteria.

Which Is Which

I rarely know which press I own. Occasionally I do. As for this record. I have no idea.

I'd like to know why "Full Speed Ahead" was changed to italics. Or maybe it was from italics.

A subtle difference. But it's my favorite variation between the two records.

It's Aged Well...Really Well

I've been re-watching all of Arrested Development through Instant Netflix. However, season three, episode eight is a bad stream.

Fix it Netflix. I'm stuck.

I Want My MTV

Twelve year old me would get really excited any time videos from 120 Minutes or Headbangers Ball would make their way onto "regular" MTV.

For example, "Higher Ground."

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Mother's Milk. AKA Music. Bargain bin.

Staying Power

I'll always have a soft spot for Britpop.

Most of the bands have broken up. Or gone on hiatus. Or reunited.

I am impressed by The Bluetones continued existence. Intact.

The Bluetones - Mudslide EP. Amazon.com. Used.

Sixty-Two

I am sixty-two posts behind.

I add everything to a list.

I am moving slow on that list. I moved faster when I was unemployed.

Catatonia - Lost Cat (Single 2). Long In the Tooth. Bargain bin.

There Are Imports and Then There Are Imports

Buying UK imports is one thing. They will generally run you twenty dollars or so.

But when I dabbled in Japanese pop and rock in the early 2000s. That was a whole other ball game.

They ran me about thirty to forty dollars.

The prices have not decreased over the years. It's the one thing keeping me from finishing my Kahimi Karie discography.

These are the things I fret about.

PUFFY - Love So Pure. Amazon.com. Used.

Critical

All of the critical acclaim is surrounding the Body Talk releases.

That is no reason not to check out everything else.

Weird Sisters

I am in the process of re-reading the Harry Potter books. So I can finally get around to reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

After reading each book I am watching the corresponding movie. Last week I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It reminded me that I need to find the Weird Sisters tracks.

Next up. Book five. My least favorite of the bunch.

Pulp - Help the Aged. Amazon.com. Used.

Go Buy It

Hurts - Happiness. Amazon.com. New.

Cousins

My cousin Michelle has good taste in music. When I was in third or fourth grade she gave me a mixtape for Christmas. She must have been in high school at the time.

It was my introduction to New Order.

It was also my introduction to Yello.

Yello didn't stick with me quite like New Order did.

Yello - Flag. AKA Music. Bargain bin.
