Dark enough for me.

Habit Forming

The song that started my Inspiral habit all those years ago.

Inspiral Carpets - This Is How It Feels. amazon.com. Used.

Newer Sounds

Amazing that I can keep all these "Forest" artists of the past year straight.

This one reminds me of early era Sigur Ros. Early era M83.

Have at it.

Forrests - Wilder. iTunes.

My favorite Revelation Records release. Always and forever.

Statue - Filter the Infection. Mike. Used.

Newer Sounds

A terrible name. A not terrible band.

They sound like Cocteau Twins. This means you should listen to them. Yes. You really should.

Us Baby Bear Bones - What Starts With a U Ends with an I. iTunes.

Dad Rock (Not Really)

I've been sending my dad Sleater-Kinney records. I think he expressed interest in them once Portlandia started getting so much press (my parents are fans).

Sleater-Kinney - Get Up. amazon.com. Used.

I can't put my finger on what Atomic Son reminds me of. Sort of a potpourri of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Verve, Suede and Embrace. It works a lot more now than when I first listened to it.

Atomic Son - Choose Love. iTunes.

O Krishna

I realize Shelter became a bit silly at the end, but there is no shame in Attaining the Supreme. It hits all of the right notes, especially for the era. It's hardcore. It's emotional. It's Krishna.

I think it's the best thing they ever put out. I'd even be willing to say this is my second favorite record involving Ray Cappo. The first being the final Youth of Today seven inch. But I'd take this over every other YOT release.

Shelter - Attaining the Supreme. Mike. Used.

Recent purchases. Femme. La Femme. This seems to be a recurring theme.

See: Forest. Forrests.

Once Again

More Heaven 17. I went on quite a Heaven 17 bender last year.

And can't find the disc in my stacks. It's there. Somewhere.

Heaven 17 - How Men Are. amazon.com. Used.

Iceage is one of those bands that I like to think of as "hardcore approved." Not necessarily a hardcore band, but they seem to be pretty popular within the hardcore scene. I think the later releases of Fucked Up and Ceremony can fall under the same classification. Although their hardcore pedigree is a bit more "pure" I suppose.

I think these bands always end up on Matador.

Iceage - You're Nothing. AKA Music. Used.

Lost

I have no idea why I needed to re-purchase this, or what happened to the one I bought years and years ago.

Dischord 1981: The Year In Seven Inches. amazon.com. Used.

I don't even know if I can consider this "new" anymore. That being said, British Sea Power have been putting out solid releases since their debut. Not a stinker in the bunch. I recommend anything they've ever done.

They're very good live as well.

British Sea Power - Machineries of Joy. amazon.com. Used.

Have It

I have most of these songs. But that's never stopped me from buying a greatest hits package.

Heaven 17 - Temptation: The Best of Heaven 17. amazon.com. Used.

Pop! AlunaGeorge might be some of my favorite pop going right now. I can't get enough.

This is a companion post to Sweetheart of the Rodeo.

The Flying Burrito Brothers - The Collection. amazon.com. Used.

I'll lump them into the Hard-Fi, Maximo Park category. Not a bad thing. In fact a good thing. Good enough that I'll be buying more.

Dexters - Start To Run. iTunes.
