Pardon me while I channel Tee Till Death for a moment.

I'd like to know more about the Cabal shirt Rob Fish is wearing in the album art.

It's not a basketball jersey, but appears to be a licensed NBA product. It is sleeved, not a tank.

Is this a one off Cabal item?

Collector

I don't buy a lot of vinyl.

Occasionally I'll pick something up if I know someone in the band.

Even when I did buy a lot of vinyl I was never a collector. In fact, I've sold most of what I once owned.

That being said. I'd spend just about anything on a Chung King.

If I had the money and/or disposable income.

It boggles the mind that Revelation Records ever let You're Only Young Once... go out of print.

Lost and Found was there to fill the bootleg demand.

And there was demand. I don't know why Revelation waited so long to re-release a lot of those early releases.

Some of them still haven't made their way to compact disc. I'm sure they have their reasons. That doesn't make me want the Warzone seven inch on CD any less.

Never Say Never

I never thought they would get back together.

Yet, there they were. Part of the Hellfest lineup.

As much as I wanted to go, I couldn't bring myself to buy tickets to the massive event.

Lucky for me, things fell apart.

They scheduled two shows in Philadelphia. I had to get tickets to at least one. I waited in line at Spaceboy and got my tickets to the Starlight Ballroom. The bill featured 108 and Lifetime.

I thought that would be it for 108 (and Lifetime for that matter).

That wasn't the case. In addition to new material, both bands have continued to tour.

I've seen 108 multiple times since that weekend. Hopefully they have a few more shows in them.

I know they have another album. So I like my chances.

Come With the Gentle People

Number Two, the second in the Big Brother video series, introduced me to the California sound of The Carrie Nations.

In seeking out their recorded output I learned they were the fictitious band featured in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. A film I knew something about, but had never seen.

Its reputation preceding it, I managed to purchase a copy of the VHS. My mind was blown. It became a favorite. After one viewing I understood the cult-like appeal. I expected an ode to buxom actresses. It was. But it was so much more.

The soundtrack played a major role in contributing to the overall feel of the film. A soundtrack I was told existed only on vinyl. Vinyl in Europe.

Grant shared my love of both the movie and the soundtrack. When he told me his store was getting a compact disc version of the soundtrack, I was excited. More excited than anyone should be about a thirty year old soundtrack. Although this wasn't the first time. I'm sure it won't be the last time either.

He asked if I wanted to order one for myself.

The check was in the mail.
