Sixties sounds. Psych. Female fronted.

Dark enough for me.

Lola Colt - I Get High If You Get High. iTunes.

Habit Forming

The song that started my Inspiral habit all those years ago.

Inspiral Carpets - This Is How It Feels. amazon.com. Used.

Amazing that I can keep all these "Forest" artists of the past year straight.

This one reminds me of early era Sigur Ros. Early era M83.

Have at it.

Forrests - Wilder. iTunes.

Number One

My favorite Revelation Records release. Always and forever.

Statue - Filter the Infection. Mike. Used.

A terrible name. A not terrible band.

They sound like Cocteau Twins. This means you should listen to them. Yes. You really should.

Us Baby Bear Bones - What Starts With a U Ends with an I. iTunes.

Dad Rock (Not Really)

I've been sending my dad Sleater-Kinney records. I think he expressed interest in them once Portlandia started getting so much press (my parents are fans).

Sleater-Kinney - Get Up. amazon.com. Used.

I can't put my finger on what Atomic Son reminds me of. Sort of a potpourri of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Verve, Suede and Embrace. It works a lot more now than when I first listened to it.

Atomic Son - Choose Love. iTunes.

O Krishna

I realize Shelter became a bit silly at the end, but there is no shame in Attaining the Supreme. It hits all of the right notes, especially for the era. It's hardcore. It's emotional. It's Krishna.

I think it's the best thing they ever put out. I'd even be willing to say this is my second favorite record involving Ray Cappo. The first being the final Youth of Today seven inch. But I'd take this over every other YOT release.

Shelter - Attaining the Supreme. Mike. Used.

Recent purchases. Femme. La Femme. This seems to be a recurring theme.

See: Forest. Forrests.

Femme - Daydreamer. iTunes.

Once Again

More Heaven 17. I went on quite a Heaven 17 bender last year.

And can't find the disc in my stacks. It's there. Somewhere.

Heaven 17 - How Men Are. amazon.com. Used.
