I can't put my finger on what Atomic Son reminds me of. Sort of a potpourri of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Verve, Suede and Embrace. It works a lot more now than when I first listened to it.

O Krishna

I realize Shelter became a bit silly at the end, but there is no shame in Attaining the Supreme. It hits all of the right notes, especially for the era. It's hardcore. It's emotional. It's Krishna.

I think it's the best thing they ever put out. I'd even be willing to say this is my second favorite record involving Ray Cappo. The first being the final Youth of Today seven inch. But I'd take this over every other YOT release.

Iceage is one of those bands that I like to think of as "hardcore approved." Not necessarily a hardcore band, but they seem to be pretty popular within the hardcore scene. I think the later releases of Fucked Up and Ceremony can fall under the same classification. Although their hardcore pedigree is a bit more "pure" I suppose.

I think these bands always end up on Matador.

I don't even know if I can consider this "new" anymore. That being said, British Sea Power have been putting out solid releases since their debut. Not a stinker in the bunch. I recommend anything they've ever done.
