Disappointment

As far as I know Modern English had one huge hit.

I thought "I bet their other stuff is pretty good."

It isn't. At least based on this late era release.

Modern English - Beautiful People. Amazon.com. Used.

All About Two Tribes

Maybe it's because I've been listening to them a good bit.

But I've come to the conclusion that Frankie Goes to Hollywood is one of the best bands of the 1980s.

Pop. Rock. Disco. Punk. My worlds collide when it comes to Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Bang!... The Greatest Hits of Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Amazon.com. Used.

Potpourri

Natalia Kills.

Psych?

Love Battery continues to fascinate me.

They don't necessarily fit with the Seattle sound. But they do.

Certainly one of the more interesting yet overlooked bands of the era.

Love Battery - Nehru Jacket. Amazon.com. Used.

Investing

Echo & The Bunnymen are coming to Philadelphia. I'm thinking about going. But tickets are expensive. Surcharges. Etc.

Shows are too much of an investment.

Echo & The Bunnymen - Nothing Lasts Forever. Amazon.com. Used.

Go Buy It

The Charlatans - Just Looking/Bullet Comes. Amazon.com. Used.

Yes, I'm Wrong

Okay. This one doesn't sound like Manic Street Preachers either.

In regards to the post-Building world, my memory was not serving me well.

Sense Field - Tonight and Forever. Amazon.com. Used.

Lag

I think I started sending my brother Blur albums over six months ago.

I knew I was behind on posting. But not this behind.

Blur - Think Tank. Amazon.com. New.

Back For Good

The first three Robbie Williams albums are some of my favorite pop albums. Of all time.

My interest began to wane after Swing When You're Winning and Escapology.

But as you can see. I continue to buy.

Robbie Williams - Rudebox. Amazon.com. Used.

Warming

I really love the first two albums.

I didn't know what to think when "Mr. Writer" was released as the first single from the third album. It felt like a departure from Word Gets Around and Performance and Cocktails.

Once it was released I immediately liked Just Enough Education to Perform. But it took me a long time to warm up to "Mr. Writer."

Stereophonics - Mr. Writer. Amazon.com. Used.
