Senile

It is my third favorite Blur album. It has a ton of singles. And The Universal is probably in my top five Blur songs.

Yet when rattling off Blur releases to my brother, I forgot to list it.

I will blame old age.

Desperate Measures - It's On Your Hands. Youngblood Online Store. New.

Calling All

Are there other JJ72 fans out there?

I don't know if I ever met one. Maybe I have. JJ72 aren't usually a topic of conversation.

Tell me. I feel alone.

Search

James are one of the more difficult bands to search for on Amazon.com.

A search of "James" within music will usually bring the full-length releases to the top of the results.

However, I am almost looking for cheap CD singles. For most bands, a sort from lowest to highest priced does the trick.

For James, this becomes a nightmare.

Done Right

Now this is what I consider a quality Spice Girls solo outing.

I Turn To You is a must have. And in my limited experience. A one-time strip club favorite.

Melanie C - Northern Star. Amazon.com. Used.

Socialism

Are they Socialists?

They are French. So I've always assumed so.

Misstep

There wasn't a Spice Girls solo release I did not enjoy in some capacity.

And then I ran into Hot.

Melanie B - Hot. Amazon.com. Used.

Vacation

I have been out of town for a few days.

Please be patient while I catch up on posts. And life in general.

Not a Complaint

I vaguely remember Example being signed to Mike Skinner's label, The Beats.

It doesn't sound like it. But maybe.

Example - Won't Go Quietly. Amazon.com. Used.

Potpourri

Jessie Malakouti.

First to Last

I was pleased when my brother informed me he wanted to dive into the world of Blur.

I asked him if he wanted the albums in chronological order. Or in the order of my personal preference.

Personal preference it is.

Later Works

I first bought this album in 1993. It was the first time I ever listened to X.

No. It wasn't Los Angeles.

I probably didn't hear that album for another ten years.

X - Hey Zeus! Long In the Tooth. Bargain bin.

1001

My last post was number 1000.

I wanted to mark this occasion.

Error 242

I'm a little disappointed in myself for posting Tyranny (For You) twice. I think I do a pretty good job of not doubling up posts. At least I thought I did.

Go Buy It

The Charlatans - Jesus Hairdo. Amazon.com. Used.

The Commitments

I forget the context. Or whether it is the novel, the movie or both.

But I enjoy the part in The Commitments in which the venue owner will only book bands that sound like Echo & The Bunnymen. I'd go there often.

Echo & The Bunnymen. Long In the Tooth. Bargain bin.

Ever Closer

I'm running out of Dubstar releases to purchase for under $1.00.

The completest in me says discography at any cost.

But my arbitrary (self-imposed) rules aim to keep me cheap.

When Emo Was

I was surprised Anasarca released a discography.

They are a great band. But I was under the impression that me and three friends were the only people listening to them. Then again. I tend to live in my own little bubble.

East Bunk Hill is incredible.

Best Laid Plans

Cathy is taking Bella north this weekend.

My plans are to catch up on posts between the Manchester City and Philadelphia Union matches.

I'm sure I'll watch another as well.

Commence posting!

Get Paid

It always surprises me that Love Battery was never a bigger band.

Dayglo is as good as many of the big "grunge" records of the era. It holds up just as well, or even better.

I know they had a brief moment on a major label. I can only hope they had a taste of the wads of cash being thrown around Seattle in the early-nineties.

Love Battery - Dayglo. The Marvelous. Used.

Bad Habits

At first I was only buying vinyl only releases of friends.

Moving on to vinyl releases of friends.

Moving on to vinyl only releases that I didn't have.

Or vinyl releases of certain labels. Certain bands.

So basically I'm buying and collecting vinyl again.

Unrest - Cath Carroll. Long In the Tooth. Used.
