Overkill

I own every Culture Club studio release. I'm not sure why I felt the need to purchase a "best of."

Culture Club - The Best of Culture Club. amazon.com. Used.

Jesus Loves You

I will occasionally see songs off of this record attributed to "Jesus Loves You." Which after doing some research I discovered is what the album was listed as worldwide.

But let's be honest. It is and will always be a Boy George record.

Boy George - The Martyr Mantras. Amazon.com. Used.

Slowly But Surely

A greatest hits album is not enough for me.

I had the first three albums on cassette. I've now upgraded to compact disc for two of the three.

One to go. And any other greatest hits packages I stumble on.

I can never have enough Culture Club.

Taboo

I think Cathy hates this album more than Bad Trip. That's quite an accomplishment.

I ask that she not judge my taste.

Boy George - Cheapness and Beauty. Amazon.com. Used.

All Mine

Talking Heads, Blondie, The Rolling Stones. Those were my parents' bands.

Culture Club. The first band that was mine.

Surprise!

I really wanted to see The Crying Game when it came out. I convinced Mike Beard and Mike Gioella to go with me.

I was aware of the big "reveal." Mike Beard might have been aware. Mike Gioella was not.

What a reaction!

One of the Few

There was no way the show would last.

I reconciled my hatred of Rosie O'Donnell and my love of Boy George. It was time to buy tickets.

Part of a Christmas gift for Cathy. A trip to New York. Dinner. A Broadway show. Not just any show.

Taboo.

Boy George. Leigh Bowery. New Romantics.

It wasn't very good. I didn't expect it to be. Cathy agreed.

Seeing the campy disaster during it's brief run. A super-sized Boy George.

The important things.

Boy George - Sold. Princeton Record Exchange. Unsorted bargain bin.
