totally agreed, I love "True Faith" and "Blue Monday" as a youngster, but it was this album (and single) that really picqued my interest in New Order....
Technique and Substance were the only things I had before this. They were more of a "singles" band to me.
After buying Republic I started buying all of the albums singles etc. And haven't looked back.
It's weird I didn't obsess over them earlier as I did with The Cure and Depeche Mode. I was trying to buy up their discographies from late elementary school/early middle school.
