Apparently, a number of the newer British bands I've been enjoying over the past year or two are coming out of this scene. Peace. JAWS. And Swim Deep.

King Krule isn't bad. But I really don't get the hype.

He kind of bores me. And I like a lot of "boring" music.

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe more listens are in order.

I was really excited by "Talkin' Loud" when I first read about the label back in the nineties. But when I started picking up releases I was incredibly let down.

Fast forward twenty years or so and I decided to try again.

Much better. So much so I think I should dig into the back catalog.

Galliano - The Plot Thickens. Used.

The first track has this Dischord-esque aspect to it that I find very interesting.

Dead Wolf Club is very good. Highly recommended. They have this very familiar feel - even if I can't say they sound exactly like "this band" or "that band." It works.

More "Nineties Revival" (for lack of a better term). And I couldn't be happier. Maybe it's the nostalgia in me or the approach to middle age. But I really think the decade (spilling into the late eighties) was a real high point for "indie rock."
